About the role
The Records Paralegal will support a U.S. personal injury law firm by managing the end‑to‑end process of retrieving, tracking, and organizing case records. Working remotely, you will ensure subpoenas are prepared, deadlines are met, and attorneys have timely access to complete, accurate records.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and finalize state and federal subpoenas for medical and case‑related records.
- Own the records‑request pipeline from request to receipt, following up consistently.
- Calendar deadlines and maintain up‑to‑date request logs for attorney visibility.
- Coordinate with process servers and records custodians to secure proper service.
- Review incoming records for completeness, certification, and accuracy before indexing.
- Process invoices and ensure timely payment when required for record release.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED plus at least a 2‑year associate degree or paralegal certificate.
- Minimum 2 years of records‑handling experience in a personal injury law firm, medical office, insurance company, or similar setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines independently.
- Strong professional English communication and investigative skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with document scanning, naming, indexing, and filing procedures.
