Senior Full Stack & Backend NodeJS TypeScript Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a senior Full Stack and Backend Engineer to join its rapidly expanding consultancy. You will work remotely from Latin America, collaborating with US‑based teams to design and deliver high‑performance, secure applications for a variety of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low‑latency API services on AWS.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party SDKs.
• Implement and manage PostgreSQL/Aurora databases, including Row‑Level Security and schema migrations.
• Write raw SQL queries and ensure data integrity across multi‑tenant environments.
• Contribute to frontend features using React when needed.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and conduct thorough integration testing.
• Collaborate with AI coding assistants and follow best‑practice development standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend‑focused software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to overlap US business hours and work autonomously with extreme ownership.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a positive, client‑focused attitude.

• Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript
• AWS services (including Fargate/ECS)
• RESTful API design and low‑latency services
• PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, Row‑Level Security, raw SQL
• Schema migration tools (node‑postgres, node‑pg‑migrate)
• React
• Testing frameworks, integration and fault‑injection testing
• CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
• Experience with Fastify and Zod (preferred)
• Familiarity with event‑sourced or bitemporal data models (preferred)
