Math School Instructor (Per Hour)

About the role

An education project is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Math school instructor to work on a per-hour basis. The role suits a starting-level teacher who wants to help students overcome learning challenges and grow with an innovative education project. Students aged 11 to 18 are taught and supported.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and support students in Math
• Adapt explanations and strategies to different student learning styles
• Help students build effective learning and organizational habits
• Track student progress and give feedback to the Learning Habits team
• Collaborate to improve lesson plans, activities and teaching approaches

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Strong spoken and written English and Spanish
• Passion for teaching and working with young learners
• Responsible, patient and creative; mobile around Masaya
• Preferred: prior tutoring or teaching experience, formal or informal

Required skills

• Familiarity with online teaching tools such as Google Classroom, Khan Academy, IXL and College Board (preferred)
