Graphic Design Intern (Remote, Unpaid)

About the role

Hire Hangar offers an unpaid, remote graphic design internship for university students who want real-world design experience and a stronger portfolio. The internship is based on US time zones (EST to PST) and covers real projects such as social media posts, marketing materials and brand visuals, with hands-on guidance and feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Design graphics for social media, websites, email campaigns and digital ads
• Create marketing materials such as presentations, brochures, flyers and infographics
• Apply brand guidelines consistently across all visual content
• Build skills in photo editing, image retouching and layout
• Turn ideas and briefs into clear, engaging visuals with team collaboration
• Receive regular feedback and revise work quickly and accurately
• Keep design files and asset libraries organized and stay up to date with design trends

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media or a related field
• A portfolio showing creativity, layout, typography and colour
• Strong written and spoken English with a clear, professional communication style
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently
• Comfortable working remotely and fluent with remote collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Asana or similar)

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Figma or Canva
• Preferred: previous freelance, volunteer or academic project experience; basic motion graphics or video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro, CapCut); interest in social media trends and digital marketing; exposure to US or UK teams
