About the role

The Public Relations Specialist will design and implement communication strategies that reflect the university’s image and values. Working full‑time on campus, you will be the primary liaison between UNAN‑Managua and media outlets at local, national and international levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute institutional communication plans aligned with strategic goals.
• Write, edit and coordinate press releases, news bulletins and other informational materials.
• Organize events, press conferences and media briefings.
• Manage relationships with journalists, arrange interviews and monitor media coverage.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative units to ensure consistent messaging.
• Support crisis communication efforts and protect the university’s reputation.

Required profile

• University degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.
• Proven experience in public relations, media relations and corporate image management.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt messages for diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational abilities, teamwork orientation and results‑driven mindset.
• Full‑time availability on site in Managua; contract may be temporary based on institutional needs.
