About the role

The Licenses and Permits Coordinator will oversee the full lifecycle of operational permits across stores, food plants, distribution centers and other business units in Nicaragua. The role ensures regulatory compliance, business continuity and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage acquisition, renewal, modification and expiration tracking of all operational permits.
• Handle specialized licenses such as sanitary, occupational health and safety, food products, fertilizers, agro‑chemicals, import/export and medical devices.
• Monitor regulatory changes and maintain compliance, using GLM or similar platforms to flag upcoming expirations.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Legal, Operations, Quality, Logistics, Formats) and act as the primary liaison with ministries, municipalities, health and labor authorities.
• Develop, implement and report on KPIs related to licensing compliance, driving continuous improvement, digitalisation and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or related fields.
• Minimum three years of experience managing regulatory permits and compliance with Nicaraguan government entities.
• Familiarity with retail, food, manufacturing or logistics sectors is desirable.
• Valid driver’s license (category B1) and own vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GLM or comparable permit‑tracking platforms.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Project management experience (Project or equivalent tools).
• Ability to interpret technical regulations.
• Intermediate English (B2 level).
