Staff Accountant – Crypto & Digital Asset Focus

About the role

Veta Virtual is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a high‑growth fintech and cryptocurrency client. The role blends traditional accounting duties with digital‑asset expertise, supporting monthly close, financial reporting, and crypto transaction processing for a global kiosk network.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly roll‑forwards for BTC, ETH, LTC and other digital assets.
• Reconcile wallet balances to blockchain data and internal sub‑ledgers, handling data cleanup and exception resolution.
• Perform fair market value calculations, remeasurements, and proof‑of‑reserves style reconciliations.
• Process crypto donations, rewards, incentives and record hardware wallet activity.
• Post journal entries, conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations, flux analysis and variance explanations for month‑end close.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, depreciation schedules and assist with audit support packages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Working knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general financial accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, reporting and data analysis.
• NetSuite or a comparable ERP system (preferred).
• Alteryx, Tableau or similar data/BI tools (bonus).
