Senior Full Stack & Backend Node.js Engineer (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

Bluelight, a fast‑growing software consultancy, is looking for a senior full‑stack and backend engineer to design and deliver high‑performance applications for clients across the US and Latin America. The role is fully remote and ideal for candidates who thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low‑latency API services on AWS.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party SDKs.
• Implement secure multi‑tenant architectures using PostgreSQL/AuroraDB with Row‑Level Security.
• Write raw SQL, manage schema migrations (node‑postgres, node‑pg‑migrate), and contribute to frontend work with React when needed.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated integration tests, including fault‑injection scenarios.
• Collaborate with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• Work overlapping US business hours and ensure high‑quality delivery for large, complex systems.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, backend‑focused.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong ownership, client‑focused attitude, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse remote team.
