Senior Data Engineer (Databricks) - Remote

About the role

BairesDev, a technology consultancy with more than 15 years of experience and a remote-first team of 4,000+ engineers, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer (Databricks). You will design and optimize robust data pipelines and models in lakehouse environments, making sure data assets are scalable, reliable and accessible, and act as a technical anchor for analytics and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark for high-throughput data processing.
• Design and implement durable data models and schemas in a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
• Orchestrate complex data workflows and manage task dependencies with Airflow to ensure data freshness and reliability.
• Use dbt and SQL to turn raw datasets into clean, documented, production-ready data products.
• Optimize pipeline performance and compute usage through partitioning, caching and query tuning.
• Implement data quality checks and automated testing standards to protect the integrity and governance of the data lakehouse.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Proven expertise in designing and optimizing data pipelines in Databricks lakehouse environments.
• Strong background in building scalable, maintainable analytics-ready datasets.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
