Remote Medical Interpreter (Spanish-English, OPI and VRI)

About the role

Multilingual Interpreters and Translators, a language services company based in Winter Haven, Florida, is recruiting full-time remote Medical Interpreters for Spanish-English. The work covers over-the-phone (OPI) and video remote interpreting (VRI) in healthcare settings, with day-to-day duties focused on accurate, neutral and confidential interpretation.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret medical information accurately between patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring clarity, neutrality and confidentiality.
• Work across various medical settings while following provider and company protocols and industry standards and privacy regulations.
• Handle scheduled and on-demand calls or video sessions.
• Maintain detailed records as required and use the company's proprietary platforms and tools.
• Collaborate with supervisors and support teams, take part in ongoing training and meet performance and quality metrics.

Required profile

• Proven experience in healthcare or clinical settings.
• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking and comprehension in both.
• Ability to work remotely with reliable internet, a quiet workspace and web-based platform proficiency.
• Strong ethics, including respect for confidentiality, impartiality and professional boundaries.
• Relevant training or certification in medical or community interpreting; formal education in languages, translation or related fields is a plus.
• Previous experience in telehealth, call centers or remote interpreting is beneficial.

Required skills

• Medical terminology in Spanish and English, including common diagnoses, procedures and medications.
• Translation and simultaneous interpretation skills for real-time communication.
