About the role

Gildan, a leading global apparel manufacturer, is looking for an HR Manager to oversee its plant in Chinandega. The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Human Resources management system, guaranteeing compliance with the code of conduct, internal policies, labor legislation and international certifications while fostering a safe and pleasant work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise annual training programs on policies, code of conduct and internal regulations.
• Lead the maintenance of international certifications.
• Oversee recruitment and hiring processes for mid‑level and staff positions.
• Monitor and manage internal communication mechanisms.
• Develop improvement programs for turnover, absenteeism and other HR KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with all HR processes and procedures.
• Support corporate social responsibility initiatives and volunteer programs.
• Track annual training plans and close skill gaps.
• Lead follow‑up on findings and action plans from internal and external audits, and conduct internal HR audits.
• Maintain positive labor relations with employee representatives.
• Implement action plans derived from employee climate and engagement surveys.
• Promote communication and adherence to company policies, code of conduct and client certifications.
• Ensure proper handling of overtime procedures and conduct exit interviews.
• Oversee relocation procedures for pregnant employees when necessary and guarantee annual refresher training.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning and delivering HR training programs.
• Strong knowledge of labor legislation, internal policies and international certification requirements.
• Ability to lead recruitment processes for various levels of the organization.
• Experience monitoring HR metrics and implementing improvement initiatives.
• Track record of conducting and following up on internal and external HR audits.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain good labor relations and support CSR activities.
