Care Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at McKay Creek Assisted Living. You will provide hands‑on support with daily living activities, ensure resident comfort, and contribute to a warm, safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Use the PCC system to record resident information, meals, and care notes accurately.
• Report changes in resident condition, accidents, and incidents promptly to the Health and Wellness Director.
• Prepare resident rooms, make beds, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
• Transport residents within the facility and assist with loading/unloading from vehicles.
• Respond to resident calls quickly and check on residents who cannot call for help.
• Document all care activities, incident reports, and SPA entries in a clear, descriptive manner.
• Collaborate with nursing staff during shift handovers and participate in regular team meetings.

Required profile

• Ability to provide respectful, person‑centered care to elderly residents.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to report any concerns or violations.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining resident privacy.
• Physical ability to assist with transfers, mobility, and other care tasks.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with the PCC resident‑information system.
