Civil Engineer – Site Design & Drafting

About the role

We are looking for a Professional Engineer with strong civil site design and drafting expertise to support our remote projects across self‑storage, industrial, and multifamily developments. The position is fully remote, offering flexible hours within the Central Time Zone.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare civil site plans that meet regulatory standards and project specifications.
• Develop grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater, and utility plans from surveys and topographic data.
• Perform drainage, detention/retention, and cut‑and‑fill calculations.
• Apply value‑engineering techniques to reduce sitework and construction costs.
• Generate quantity takeoffs and assist with project estimating.
• Create floor plans, building layouts, elevations, and basic renderings for mixed‑use projects.
• Support contractor bidding, bid comparisons, permitting, and project coordination.
• Provide schedule updates and manage multiple active projects simultaneously.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in civil site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, and utility design.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. engineering standards and construction practices.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage several projects at once.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Civil 3D (preferred).
• HydroCAD or StormCAD (a plus).
