Senior Accountant / Head of Accounting (Remote)

About the role

A remote, full-time position (7:00 AM-3:00 PM Mountain Time) for an experienced, analytical Senior Accountant / Head of Accounting to take full ownership of the accounting function across multiple business entities. The role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping and suits someone with a strong background in e-commerce accounting, especially Amazon and other online sales channels. It involves overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting and reconciliations, and working with Engineering and Machine Learning teams to improve financial systems, automation and cash flow forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of accounting across multiple entities, maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and oversee general accounting, reporting and reconciliations
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, monitor payments and resolve discrepancies
• Manage complex e-commerce accounting for businesses across sales channels, including Amazon-based operations
• Collaborate with engineering and ML teams to build and improve cash flow forecasting systems, reporting tools and automation
• Analyse financial data to improve cash flow management and reporting, and turn financial needs into actionable insights for technical teams

Required profile

• At least 10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Previous experience as Head of Accounting, Accounting Manager, Lead Accountant, Financial Controller or sole accountant
• Experience managing accounting operations independently and overseeing AP and AR across multiple entities
• Nice to have: e-commerce accounting background, Amazon accounting experience, and experience working with software engineers on financial systems

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and account reconciliation
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
