Patient Scheduling Specialist (Bilingual English/Spanish)

About the role

A state-of-the-art call center is hiring Patient Scheduling & Access Specialists to help patients schedule imaging appointments accurately and efficiently. It is a fast-paced, high-volume position handling both incoming calls and proactive outbound calls to patients and leads who want to book an appointment. Training and support are provided for candidates who show the right aptitude, work ethic and commitment to patient service.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule approximately 50 imaging appointments per day, checking the patient chart and physician orders before booking
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls professionally and respectfully
• Make proactive outbound calls to leads and patients, follow up and fill open appointment slots
• Confirm the correct exam, body part, location, date and details, and ask the team for help on missing or unclear information
• Review insurance and authorization information and route unresolved issues to the right team
• Complete patient safety screening, give clear appointment instructions and answer patient questions
• Document calls, changes and follow-ups in internal systems and protect patient confidentiality
• Meet or exceed scheduling, call volume, quality, attendance and productivity targets

Required profile

• Bilingual English/Spanish, with excellent English proficiency
• Call center, healthcare, medical scheduling or customer service experience preferred
• Immediate availability preferred

• Attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing patient and appointment information
• Organization, time management and ability to handle many calls and priorities
• Comfortable making outbound calls and working independently
• Quickly learns and navigates multiple computer systems
