Country Consultant (Telecom & Government Relations)

About the role

The Country Consultant will act as the primary liaison between the company and Nicaraguan authorities, telecom operators and system integrators. Working on a part‑time, flexible basis, the consultant will support strategic market entry and partnership development in Nicaragua’s telecommunications sector.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities and senior management of major telecom operators, regional ISPs and system integrators.
• Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly analyses of the market, political and business environment, highlighting policies, industry trends, competition and opportunities.
• Provide forward‑looking recommendations to inform the company’s strategic planning and major decision‑making in Nicaragua.
• Assist in building and strengthening the company’s brand presence across political, business and telecommunications circles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in public affairs, law, telecommunications, economics or related fields.
• At least 10 years of experience in public affairs, government relations or the telecommunications industry.
• Deep knowledge of Nicaragua’s telecommunications and infrastructure policies and proven ability to facilitate government‑enterprise cooperation.
• Strong political acumen, excellent communication abilities and solid crisis‑management capabilities.
• Native or fluent Spanish, strong English proficiency; Chinese is a plus.
