Bilingual Medical Assistant – Front & Back Office (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our remote team. The role combines front‑office patient interaction with back‑office clinical support, requiring strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication in English and Spanish, and proficiency with the athenahealth (athenaOne) EMR system.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage high‑volume inbound patient calls in English and Spanish.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using athenahealth.
• Verify insurance eligibility, collect patient demographics, and route calls to appropriate clinical staff.
• Triage patient calls, respond to medical questions within MA scope, and process prescription refill requests.
• Coordinate referrals, follow up on lab results and imaging, and document all interactions in athenahealth.
• Assist providers with prior authorizations and ensure HIPAA‑compliant documentation.

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a U.S. clinical setting.
• Hands‑on experience with athenahealth (athenaOne) EMR – mandatory.
• Orthopedic experience preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred but not required.
