Area Scout – Nicaragua

About the role

The Boston Red Sox International Scouting Department is looking for an Area Scout to cover Nicaragua. The Scout will identify, evaluate, and recommend amateur and professional baseball talent throughout the country, working closely with the scouting team and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary scout for the assigned territory, building a network of players, coaches, trainers, and representatives.
• Maintain a detailed preference list and regularly update reports on evaluated players.
• Collect data, physical assessments, and video footage of prospects.
• Develop relationships with players and their families and provide regular updates to supervisors.
• Coordinate tryouts, cover events inside and outside the territory, and submit expenses promptly.
• Ensure compliance with MLB and Boston Red Sox international scouting policies.
• Participate in professional development activities as assigned.

Required profile

• Current, year‑round residence in Nicaragua.
• Strong knowledge of baseball talent evaluation and scouting processes.
• Ability to travel within the territory and attend scouting events.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
