Personal Care Assistant – Resident Support

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support residents in an assisted‑living setting. The role involves delivering daily personal care, ensuring safety, and promoting a warm, respectful environment for each resident.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine daily care according to each resident’s assessment and care plan.
• Assist residents with mobility, dressing, toileting, and feeding as needed.
• Maintain accurate resident records using the PCC system, including notes, SPAs, and incident reports.
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition, accidents, or incidents to the Health and Wellness Director and Executive Director promptly.
• Prepare resident rooms, make beds, and ensure personal belongings are properly stored and inventoried.
• Transport residents within the facility and assist with loading/unloading from vehicles.
• Respond to resident calls quickly and check on residents who cannot call for help.
• Perform after‑meal care, keep water pitchers filled, and support residents with visual impairments in identifying meals.
• Participate in shift handovers, nursing reports, and regular meetings to improve service quality.

Required profile

• Demonstrated empathy and respect for the dignity of older adults.
• Ability to follow written policies, procedures, and training guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and incident reporting.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and collaborate with nursing staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the PCC resident‑information system.
• Basic knowledge of infection control and blood/body fluid exposure protocols.
