About the role

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support the national program in Nicaragua by ensuring rigorous monitoring, evaluation, learning and accountability (MEAL) of all projects and initiatives. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of project quality, impact and sustainability through evidence‑based decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and lead the institutional MEAL planning process in line with the organization’s strategic guidelines.
• Implement and maintain MEAL tools, methodologies, and corporate planning models for project monitoring, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities are carried out consistently, objectively and rigorously across all programmes.
• Provide timely, accurate data and evidence to support impact measurement, learning and strategic decision‑making.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate MEAL processes into project design and implementation.
• Document and communicate findings, lessons learned and recommendations to stakeholders.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy or a related field.
• Proven experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning within an international development or NGO context.
• Strong understanding of results‑based management and impact measurement.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a participatory and inclusive environment.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail.
