Virtual Medical Receptionist – Optometry Patient Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a virtual medical receptionist to become the first point of contact for patients of a busy optometry practice. Working remotely, you will handle high‑volume inbound calls, schedule appointments, answer inquiries and support the front‑office team while maintaining the practice’s professional image.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and triage high‑volume inbound patient calls with a friendly, clear English accent.
• Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel routine eye exams, specialty visits and optical services.
• Make outbound calls for appointment reminders, recalls, follow‑ups and missed appointments.
• Maintain accurate patient demographics, insurance details and communication logs in the EMR.
• Manage provider schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize gaps.
• Route messages to the appropriate providers and office staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in an optometry medical office.
• Bilingual English‑Spanish with excellent spoken English and minimal accent.
• Proven ability to handle high‑volume phone traffic and multitask in a remote environment.
• Professional, friendly and confident phone presence.
