Telecommunications Engineer – Mobile Device & Network Testing

About the role

Marquistech is seeking a Telecommunications Engineer to lead mobile device and network testing activities across a range of smartphones, FWA routers, and IoT products. The role focuses on validating 4G/5G performance, RF optimization, and firmware quality for leading chipset platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑launch and field testing of mobile devices, including 5G/4G LTE, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and VoNR scenarios.
• Analyze network KPIs such as coverage, throughput, call drop rate, handover performance, and MOS scores.
• Perform drive testing, log analysis, and RF tuning to improve LTE/5G network performance.
• Flash and verify firmware builds, debug registration, voice/data, and UI issues.
• Use tools like JIRA, QXDM, QPST, Nemo Outdoor, Wireshark, NetAct, and spectrum analyzers for bug tracking and protocol analysis.
• Generate detailed test reports and provide recommendations to R&D and carrier teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Wireless Communication, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mobile device testing, field testing, or RF optimization.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Nemo Outdoor, Nemo Analyzer, NetAct, Wireshark, and spectrum analyzers.
• Familiarity with DCAP, KPI Reporter, WebNei, Web Element Manager, and network simulators.
• Knowledge of LTE and 5G NR protocol stacks, SRVCC, CSFB, Inter‑RAT handovers, and carrier aggregation.
• Understanding of IP networking protocols (IPv4, IPv6), SIM lock, PIN lock, and security protocols.
• Experience with chipset platforms such as Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Spreadtrum.
• Proficiency in JIRA for issue tracking.
