Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to act as the technical bridge between engineering and customer success. You will work directly with e‑commerce merchants, translating complex requirements into high‑performance solutions that improve site speed, reliability, and user experience across platforms such as Shopify and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review, and debug edge‑side code to optimize caching, localization, and device performance.
• Monitor client implementations, quickly identifying and resolving technical anomalies.
• Use browser DevTools, diagnostic APIs, and internal tools to troubleshoot latency, personalization, and CDN issues in real‑time production.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned merchant accounts, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution.
• Create documentation, tools, and processes that streamline onboarding and ongoing technical support.
• Provide field insights to product teams to influence feature roadmaps.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on software, web performance, or infrastructure engineering experience.
• At least 2 years of direct customer‑facing technical work.
• Proven ability to own end‑to‑end launches, migrations, and post‑launch monitoring.
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

• HTTP caching concepts (cache keys, expiration, invalidation, purging)
• CDN, reverse proxy, edge platform configuration and debugging
• Web performance metrics: Core Web Vitals, LCP, TTFB, Real User Monitoring, Lighthouse
• Experience with Shopify and Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) environments
