Senior Accountant – NetSuite (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

A US‑based pre‑revenue startup is seeking a hands‑on Senior Accounting Associate to manage full‑cycle accounts payable and support month‑end close, audit preparation, and a NetSuite finance transformation. The position is an independent contractor role for candidates based in Latin America and works remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑cycle AP: review, code, PO match, vendor follow‑up, aging, and month‑end accrual support.
• Month‑end close: prepare journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, trial‑balance review, and schedules for accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany.
• Audit & controls: respond to PBC requests, maintain audit‑ready workpapers, and strengthen controls for public‑company readiness.
• Finance transformation: assist NetSuite implementation through data cleanup, trial‑balance upload, UAT, and new workflow design.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of accounting experience with full‑cycle AP and month‑end close.
• Hands‑on experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
• Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, SUMIFS, data cleanup).
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting fundamentals.
• Proactive, self‑directed, comfortable working in ambiguity.
• Fluent written English (C1/C2 level).
