Program Manager, Sanctions Compliance

About the role

Remitly is looking for a Program Manager, Sanctions Compliance to partner with the Global Head of Sanctions Compliance. This senior role drives the execution of the sanctions compliance program, ensuring regulatory obligations are met across a global money‑services business.

Key responsibilities

• Translate sanctions program strategy into detailed workplans with milestones, owners, and accountability mechanisms.
• Manage multiple workstreams, including look‑back exercises, regulatory corrective actions, control intake requests, and escalated alert adjudication.
• Maintain a comprehensive view of open initiatives, regulatory commitments, and control improvements, surfacing risks proactively.
• Prepare briefing materials, governance updates, and executive‑level communications for senior leadership, the board, and banking partners.
• Act as a credible stand‑in for the Global Head in working‑level meetings, representing program positions independently.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance program rigor.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of OFAC regulations and sanctions screening architecture.
• Experience managing high‑stakes remediation workstreams in a financial services or fintech environment.
• Ability to exercise independent regulatory judgment and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Strong project execution skills and a track record of delivering complex programs.
