Part‑time Business Architect – Subscription Billing

About the role

Applaudo is looking for a Business Architect who can bridge finance and engineering to translate a complex subscription billing model into actionable data requirements. This part‑time contractor role focuses on guiding the migration from a legacy accounting system to Zuora while maintaining clear communication with finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Zuora’s billing model into detailed data requirements for the integration team.
• Lead business analysis for custom billing rules, revenue recognition, and reporting not covered by Zuora professional services.
• Guide finance and business stakeholders through the migration from legacy accounting to Zuora, providing step‑by‑step transformation guidance.
• Interpret Zuora’s data model and billing logic to unblock the integration team, acting as a partial platform advisor.
• Facilitate decision‑making and trade‑off discussions directly with the controller and finance stakeholders.
• Maintain stakeholder communication and technical context continuity during the planned handover period.

Required profile

• Proven business analysis experience across finance and technical domains, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis.
• Strong subscription‑billing domain expertise covering recurring revenue, invoicing, and the payment lifecycle.
• Prior experience with ERP or accounting system migration or transformation projects.
• Advanced English fluency for executive‑level collaboration with a US‑based finance team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Required skills

• Zuora platform (billing, revenue, CPQ modules).
• Google Cloud Platform ecosystem – BigQuery, Looker, Data Studio.
