Global Compliance Assurance Leader

About the role

Remitly is seeking a Global Compliance Assurance Leader to head its Global Compliance Internal Testing (GCIT) function. In this senior position you will shape the design, execution, and continuous improvement of compliance assurance testing across multiple regulatory domains, ensuring the company remains audit‑ready and risk‑aware worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assurance projects across compliance domains such as AML, sanctions, consumer protection, safeguarding, and regulatory reporting.
• Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of assurance managers and analysts, handling performance, career growth, and workload planning.
• Advise product, engineering, legal, risk, and internal audit stakeholders on control design, risk mitigation, and testing methodologies.
• Evaluate complex, non‑standard processes to deliver forward‑looking assurance insights.
• Contribute to the evolution of GCIT’s testing framework and best‑practice methodology.
• Represent GCIT in regulatory engagements and internal audit interactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in compliance assurance, internal audit, risk testing, or regulatory consulting within financial services or fintech.
• Proven leadership ability with direct people‑management experience.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
