General Manager - Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is looking for a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth. The role is remote within LATAM, working on Toronto hours, and will split time between running HoopStars and building the parent company’s marketing team.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts while leading sales and operations.
• Drive digital growth by improving paid search, social advertising, creative assets, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent company’s marketing team, including specialists, contractors and agencies.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit.
• Inspect advertising accounts, diagnose funnel issues and launch improvements while building a self‑sufficient execution team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building an ecommerce business, leading growth for a consumer brand, or managing a digitally‑focused operation.
• Demonstrated results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention, with commercial responsibility beyond the marketing budget.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service‑based business with real delivery capacity.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership.
