About the role

The Tax Specialist will ensure that Tigo Nicaragua complies with all tax and municipal obligations while supporting internal teams on fiscal matters. This position involves managing tax filings, interacting with municipal authorities, and coordinating audits across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee compliance with tax and municipal obligations such as IMI, withholdings, usage fees, registration, IBI and advertising.
• Manage the declaration and payment of TELCOR.
• Prepare letters and communications for various municipalities.
• Administer tax and municipal notifications, keeping logs and files up‑to‑date.
• Control and schedule municipal audits, handling all stages of the process.
• Collect information and documentation required for audit requests.
• Plan and manage site inspections nationwide.
• Handle tax and municipal certificates and solvency documents across the country.
• Process exemptions and accompany administrative procedures.
• Obtain municipal permits for company projects.
• Provide support to internal areas for municipal queries and procedures.

Required profile

• Degree or graduate in Public Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in tax handling.
• Knowledge of tax, municipal laws and current regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with SAP (preferred).
• Understanding of IFRS (preferred).
• Experience dealing with municipal authorities and tax administration.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationwide.
