Customs Valuation Agent

About the role

DHL Express Nicaragua is seeking a Customs Valuation Agent to join its Operations Department in Managua. The role focuses on executing customs valuation, classification, and declaration processes while ensuring compliance with current customs regulations and DHL quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform customs valuation of goods in line with applicable legislation.
• Prepare and review customs declarations, guaranteeing data accuracy.
• Execute required liquidations and data entries for import and export procedures.
• Use the SIDUNEA system to manage and track customs formalities.
• Verify supporting shipment documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments and customs authorities to resolve operational incidents.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records and files related to customs operations.
• Contribute to meeting productivity, quality, and service performance indicators.

Required profile

• University‑level education in Foreign Trade, International Commerce, Customs Administration, Industrial Engineering or related fields (mandatory).
• At least 2 years of experience in customs valuation, liquidations, data entry, and declarations (mandatory).
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience with the SIDUNEA system (mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (mandatory).
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and analytical problem‑solving.
