Business Architect – Subscription Billing (Part‑time Contract)

About the role

The Business Architect will bridge finance and engineering by translating a complex subscription billing model into actionable data requirements for the integration team. Working on a part‑time contract, you will guide stakeholders through the migration from a legacy accounting system to Zuora while ensuring clear communication and technical continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Translate Zuora’s billing model into data requirements for the integration team.
• Lead business analysis for custom billing rules, revenue recognition, and reporting not covered by Zuora professional services.
• Guide finance and business stakeholders through the transformation from legacy accounting to Zuora, providing step‑by‑step guidance.
• Interpret Zuora’s data model and billing logic to unblock the integration team, acting as a partial platform advisor.
• Facilitate decision‑making and trade‑off discussions with the controller and finance stakeholders.
• Maintain stakeholder communication and technical context during the planned handover period.

Required profile

• Proven business analysis experience across finance and technical domains, including requirements gathering and gap analysis.
• Strong subscription and billing domain expertise covering recurring revenue, invoicing, and payment lifecycle.
• Data literacy with ability to read pipeline logic, validate data flows and outputs.
• Prior experience in ERP or accounting system migration or transformation.
• Advanced English fluency for direct collaboration with a US‑based finance team.

Required skills

• Zuora billing platform (including revenue and CPQ modules).
• Google Cloud Platform tools such as BigQuery, Looker, and Data Studio.
