About the role

Cargill is seeking an entry‑level Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep of production and warehouse equipment at its Agriculture and Trade unit in Chinandega. The role focuses on learning and applying maintenance and reliability practices under regular supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and reactive industrial maintenance across the facility.
• Use standard hand and power tools, precision maintenance equipment, and basic computer applications to document work.
• Read and follow electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams and operation manuals.
• Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely from designated areas.
• Assist with at least one trade area such as electricity, welding, pipe installation, gearboxes, lubrication, pumps, hydraulics or pneumatics.
• Document completed tasks and observed conditions using maintenance software and communicate regularly with supervisors and peers.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Student of a technical program in mechanics, electronics or electricity.
• Ability to read and write Spanish fluently.
• Capability to work at heights up to 35 m and in confined spaces.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in noisy, dusty or chemical environments.
