Immigration Legal Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Immigration Legal Assistant to support attorneys and senior legal staff in managing citizenship, adjustment of status, SIJ‑SAPCR, removal of conditions, and CPS matters. This position offers practical exposure to immigration law while developing case‑management, research, drafting, and client‑service skills.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate case files, databases, and tracking records for immigration matters.
• Assist attorneys in preparing legal forms, petitions, affidavits, motions, orders, and correspondence.
• Monitor filed applications and keep master tracking spreadsheets up to date.
• Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and share next‑step instructions under attorney guidance.
• Coordinate appointments, interviews, court dates, and hearings.
• Conduct immigration‑related legal research and prepare concise summaries.
• Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Support CPS matters by liaising with relevant parties and preparing supporting materials.
• Prepare case summaries, affidavits, mail records, and other materials for efficient case management.
• Stay current on immigration procedures and apply feedback to improve support skills.

Required profile

• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, and other parties.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail, especially when handling legal documents and deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple legal and administrative priorities while maintaining accuracy.
