Bilingual Medical Virtual Assistant (English-Spanish)

About the role

A fully remote, independent contractor position for a bilingual (English and Spanish) Medical Virtual Assistant who supports US healthcare clients. The role connects patients with their care teams, coordinates appointments, manages medical information and handles patient-facing phone support alongside administrative and medical office tasks. It is full-time, paid at USD $6 per hour, and scheduled to US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls with patients, providers and insurers, answering inquiries professionally and accurately
• Schedule, confirm and coordinate patient appointments and keep accurate calendars and records
• Access and update patient information in EMR/EHR systems, keeping it accurate and confidential
• Help with insurance eligibility checks, coverage questions and patient information validation
• Support patient intake, admissions and front-desk operations
• Act as a communication link between patients and healthcare professionals
• Perform data entry, email management, record maintenance and documentation
• Follow healthcare procedures, patient privacy standards and HIPAA requirements

Required profile

• Fluent English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication
• Customer service, call center, BPO, virtual assistance or healthcare administration experience
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting during US business hours
• Preferred: 1-2 years supporting US healthcare accounts, familiarity with medical terminology or scheduling, and hands-on EMR/EHR experience (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, NextGen)
• Preferred: prior medical virtual assistant, receptionist or patient care coordinator experience; preferred: degree in healthcare or nursing, or HIPAA knowledge/certification
