Taxes Specialist, Accounting

About the role

The Tax Specialist will support the company's tax management by preparing, reviewing and analysing tax returns, performing reconciliations and ensuring compliance with national tax authorities. The role also contributes to identifying fiscal risks and improving direct and indirect tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly and annual tax declarations.
• Monitor compliance with the tax authority (DGI) and other regulatory bodies.
• Analyse direct and indirect taxes such as VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax and municipal taxes.
• Prepare tax reconciliations and supporting workpapers.
• Assist internal and external tax audits.
• Track changes in tax legislation and regulatory updates.
• Produce financial and tax reports for regional or corporate management.
• Validate accounting documentation with tax impact.
• Coordinate with accounting, legal and finance teams.
• Participate in tax process improvement and automation projects.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of national tax regulations and filing requirements.
• Experience in preparing tax returns and performing tax reconciliations.
• Ability to analyse tax legislation and assess its impact on the business.
• Detail‑oriented with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork across finance, legal and accounting functions.

Required skills

• Understanding of direct and indirect tax concepts (VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, municipal taxes).
• Familiarity with tax compliance software or tools.
• Proficiency in preparing tax workpapers and reports.
