Substitute Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Substitute Teacher to provide continuity of instruction when regular teachers are absent. The role involves following established lesson plans, supporting student learning, and collaborating with staff and parents to maintain a positive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Cover classes for absent teachers or specialists, adhering to their lesson plans.
• Participate in grade‑level planning meetings and prepare instructional materials.
• Deliver instruction using appropriate examples, illustrations, and varied resources to engage all learners.
• Assess student work, return feedback promptly, and encourage self‑discipline and appropriate behavior.
• Utilize media and technology confidently to enhance lessons.
• Maintain professional attendance and comply with board policies.
• Support after‑school activities and provide coverage for the elementary office as needed.
