Senior Aviation Specialist – Technical Assistance

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a Senior Aviation Specialist to provide technical, policy and investment support for a Global Gateway transport project. The assignment starts in January 2027 and runs for 48 months, focusing on aviation infrastructure and air‑transport development in partner countries.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement aviation infrastructure and air‑transport projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, project design reviews and investment analyses.
• Support airport master planning, infrastructure development and air‑connectivity planning.
• Advise on airport systems, operational efficiency, safety, security and compliance with international and European standards.
• Assist procurement, tendering, implementation supervision and operation‑maintenance planning.
• Promote sustainable, low‑carbon aviation and integrate climate‑resilience and environmental considerations.
• Support policy, regulatory and institutional reforms and improve investment climates.
• Provide capacity building and technical assistance to civil aviation authorities, airport operators and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with public authorities, IFIs, development partners and industry actors.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in aviation sector consulting, project management or technical advisory.
• Proven ability to work on large‑scale infrastructure projects in Sub‑Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean or Asia‑Pacific.
• Strong knowledge of international aviation standards, safety, security and sustainability practices.
• Excellent analytical, policy‑analysis and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
